The Final London Fashion Week Instalment

Am I really dedicating a whole post to the Whistles A/W14 presentation? Yes I am, because it was the most incredible show I've ever been to. On Monday I went along to the Whistles presentation, at first to do backstage coverage but I was late and it was very cramped. In the end I stayed for the presentation and oh my, it was beautiful. First of all I fell in love with the models and then with the clothes. Before realising I was stood near some of the best fashion editors in London. It was a wonderful experience.

It's a collection focused on evening wear, with soft textures, oversized shapes and fluid lines. There is a very muted colour scheme running throughout, something I really like. The lilac is a key colour of the evening wear look, whether it's in the simple tunic which falls below the waist, or a strapless top which comes with cuffs of fabric around the upper arms.

My favourite pieces include the racer back black dress, which flows to a full skirt at the bottom in a beautiful black satin material. As always, the jewellery this season is beautiful, including fine link chains and silver brackets with pear drop pendants. You may look at this collection and think, I would never wear any of this, but do remember that this is not the full collection. There will be plenty more in store and these will only just be amongst the rest. Following on from this winter, I can see that next winter checks will be a winner amongst the girls still. I have my eye on that checked scarf.

As always, the hair and make up is kept very simple. L'Oreal used nothing on the girls eyes and kept the skin very clear and dewy. Brows were brushed upwards and kept bushy, a favourite of everyones. The hair was a centre parting with it tucked behind the ears, sleek but with a little thickening product through the ends. A favourite look of many designers this season.

That's me done with LFW for this season. It ended on a high as after this show, Suzie & I headed to Covent Garden and demolished a pizza between us.

The Second London Fashion Week Instalment

Another day at London Fashion Week and I'm backstage again, but this time at Markus Lupfer and 1205 with Bumble & Bumble. After the shows, Suzie suggested I take some outfit photos so I obliged and decided to share them with you all. I'm not one to care about what I wear, I have certain outfits I wear quite a lot but I change them up a little. I wear a lot of black, as that's what  I wear for work too. Here I'm wearing Zara leather jeans, Next shirt, Zara coat, H&M necklace and a Zara bag! Nothing too fancy, but it's comfy.

The first show of the day was Markus Lupfer, which was a presentation, rather than a catwalk show. The set where the girls were standing was a retro style cafe, as the snacks they handed out around to guests were chips from a fish & chip shop (amazing), as well as gin & tonics for a drink. The hair was done by Bumble & Bumble and the make up by Liz Earle, which was very exciting as it's two brands I love. The hair was kept very simple with a middle parting, a very sleek look tucked behind the ears. The stylists worked with each individuals hair, using both the Prep & Tonic on the hair before blowdrying with Thickening Spray. The face kept very simple, dewy skin with a variation of eyeliner between the girls. They prepped the skin using the Liz Earle Superskin range, giving each of the girls a mini face massage using a face oil. Rathe than allowing the face oil to sink in, the Sheer Skin Tint was applied straight on top to create a very dewy skin. Depending on the girls eye shape, a different winged liner look was applied using a black kohl.

The next instalment contains the most exciting show I've attended this weekend…

Sharing A Little Love

To finish off the Valentines Weekend, I'm going to share a little love of all my favourite blogs. A lot of these people really inspire me, whether it's just their posts or something they do, they all inspire me in some way. I don't just look at blogs for inspiration, I look to the people I work with, my friends and family, as well as magazines and books. Basically everywhere. I do have a blogroll here if you want to check it out, however it does need a little updating.

I don't know where to start as I have a lot of love for some bloggers, including Hello October, who I spend the majority of my time with. I speak to her everyday and I'm happy to call her one of my closet friends. Another blogger I speak to pretty much every day is Jenny Purr, this lovely lady is truly inspiring and she helps me a lot.

If you're looking for fab photography, look no further than From RosesThe Dauphine & Lips So Facto. All three ladies have impeccable taste in make up, as well as seriously amazing photography skills. There some bloggers I have been reading for a long time now, including Vivianna Does Makeup, Lily Pebbles, GhostpartiesEssie Button and I Covet Thee. But there are also some blogs I have started to properly get into in the past few months including Life Set SailsThe Private Life Of A Girl and Parisan To Be. A little mention for Tide And Thyme, who has just started blogging again and I am very happy about. I already stalk her instagram page enough, it's just another place to look at her creative skills.

I don't just read beauty blogs, I read a lot of lifestyle & fashion blogs too. A few honourable mention to What Olivia DidWish Wish WishCider with RosieNouvelle Daily and Buy Now, Blog Later. For the magazines, it may be online but I will always love Into The Gloss. I have read many articles on this site so many times, it's a little ridiculous. As for physical magazines, I was very impressed with the first issue of Porter, I thought it was even better than Vogue. I usually buy Instyle & Elle every month, as I always like to have a flick through those late at night. My latest discovery is Cherry Bombe, a new twice yearly food & fashion magazine. The photography in this is incredible, it's worth the £15 it costs.

Who are your favourite bloggers?

The Sunday Post: A Lazy Day

Today was meant to be spent doing a few more shows at LFW, but I couldn't justify getting up really early for them so I took advantage of my day off. I work most Sundays so I never really get the chance to go to Brick Lane on a Sunday anymore, so I went along to have a little wander. I ended up having a jerk chicken wrap from one of the street food stalls, it's absolutely incredible. If you're a lover of food (like I am), then walking around here is a must for anyone visiting. I didn't want to spend hours here, as it's very busy and I just wanted to have a look for a few things.

I had a little wander into the vintage shops to look for old glass bottles but I had no look. I might save that for when I go back up north in a few weeks, there's always some gems there. I ended up in Spitafields market and picked up this giant brownie for my sister & I to share this afternoon. Very excited to tuck into that later, yummy!

I usually post throughout the weeks what I wear on my face and I always do actually wear those looks, but on a lazy day, I don't wear much at all. Today I applied half a pump of Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum to my face and a tiny bit of Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener under my eyes. There's a little of MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara, before popping a little of the Hourglass Brow Sculptor through my brows and MAC Brow Set over the top. Topped it all off with a little tinted lip balm and I was done. Just a little make up and very simple.

Oh also, I am moving out next week! I have finally found somewhere and it has happened all very quickly, so by this time next week, I will be all settled in my new room.

Do you like lifestyle posts and would you like to see some more from me in the future?
