A Christmas Make-Up Look

Need last minute inspiration for Christmas Day make up? Or possibly for New Years Eve? Look no further! A gold eye and bold red lip will suit anyone and you will look fabulous.

I mentioned last week how much I love the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream*, but here it is in action combined with a little of the Clarins Instant Concealer*. When the CC Cream comes out in stores, I can see it being a hit because as far as I can see, there are no faults. The staying power is a great, even better with a little powder over the top and it doesn't stick to any dry patches. Clarins Instant Concealer* is another hit for me, a product I wasn't too sure I would love. It's a pretty heavy coverage concealer so if you want something covering, this will do it. I have a pesky little spot hiding under this and it has lasted all day, every day this past week. To finish off the base, Clarins Bronzing Duo* has been bronzing my pale skin these past few weeks. No matter what time of the year it is, I like a little (a lot) of bronzer.

For the eyes, I started off with an old love, Half Baked, from the first Urban Decay Naked palette with Smog in the outer corners to smoke it up a little. Whenever I reach for the Naked 1, I always remember how much I loved this palette. Along the lashes, I applied a little of the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Brown to add a little more depth, before adding a lot of Clinique High Impact Extreme Mascara in Black*. For the eyebrows, I went for MAC Eyebrows in Lingering, a darker shade than I'm used to using but I have been liking a stronger brow recently. I ran out of my last eyebrow pencil so come payday, I went straight to MAC for this.

For the lips, MAC Lipstick in Russian Red is a winner. A bold blue-toned red matte lipstick, which won't budge at all. Later this day, I munched my way through a pork sandwich and it didn't budge. For this, I don't bother using lip liner as I find it rarely bleeds on me and will last the same amount of time.

Merry Christmas, my lovely readers, I will see you just before the New Year.

The Daily Make-Up #14

Following on from posting about the new Urban Decay Naked 3*, I thought I would show you how I have been wearing my two favourite shades out of the palette. This look is perfect for me at work as it's quick and easy, but it still looks like I've put some effort into it!

My usual base of Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, Clinique Airbrush Concealer* and Bourjous Java Rice Loose Powder. I have become attached to those three together, sometimes I swap the foundations but the powder is lovely. My eyebrows are my usual MAC Eyebrows in Fling, which I'm scared is going to run to very soon so I need to pick up a new one.
To prime the eyes, I use the little sample pot of Urban Decay Sin Primer Potion* which is a lovely shimmery shade. My eyelids are quite oily and eyeshadows tend to crease a lot but when I use this, it stays completely in place. I popped the shade Dust all over the lid, which is a lovely dusty rose glittery shade. In the crease, I added the tiny amount of Factory, which is a pinky-brown satin shade. I feel as though those two blended together create an amazing shadow to the eye. Along my bottom lashes, I smudged a little of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Whiskey*, a deep brown to add a little more depth. Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara* is a new favourite of mine, I think it actually beats Benefit They're Real and I didn't think that was possible. Another favourite of mine is Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black Brown, as it's a little more subtle.

The Daily Make-Up #13

I hate to be that blogger who wears the same make up all the time but when I like something, I tend to stick to it. My looks will always be simple as I don't like to go crazy, natural looking make up suits me best. But my love for lipstick is returning, I used to love a bold lip when I first started my blog!

Revlon Black Cherry lipstick is perfect for a bold berry lip. It's easy to build up the colour so it's very dark, but this is it applied before patting it down to tone down the colour a little. These lipsticks are so creamy, not matte in the slightest, yet they have amazing staying power. For the base, I've been loving Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint*. I feel as though it is similar to Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Tinted Balm, but don't hold me to that as I don't own it. It's a very thick cream, which when applied feels very moisturising on the skin and gives a tiny bit coverage. To add a little bit more coverage, I've been using Clinique Airbrush Concealer* under the eyes and around the nose to counteract any redness. Usually with brush concealers, the brush is a little useless, but with this one I'm able to apply straight to skin and blend with the brush too. I do tend to apply it to the back of my hand and blend with the RT Contour Brush, but for on the go, this is very handy. To set it all, Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder has been used more than often. It may be because the Hourglass Ambient Lightening Palette was ordered the other day for Christmas, but it gives such a lovely soft glow look to the skin. Throughout the summer, I was all for the dewy look but now I'm leaning towards a more matte look now.
For the brows, I kept it simple with MAC Eyebrows in Fling, a firm favourite of mine. Along with the Hourglass palette, I ordered their brow sculptor which I'm excited to use. I have a feeling that my MAC Eyebrows is about to run out, so when I re-purchase that I'm going to pick it up in Lingering. I'm enjoying a stronger brow a lot more recently and Lingering will give me a little darker colour. Last week in London, I picked up another Benefit They're Real. I really do love this mascara, I haven't found one which beats it yet. When I first use a new bottle, I hate it but after a few uses, it becomes perfect again.

The Daily Make-Up #12

I haven't done a 'whats on my face' in a long time, but I'm bringing them back! This morning at 9am, I got tickets to see Taylor Swift in London next year. I've been waiting for years to see her so to say I'm excited would be an understatement. I'm celebrating by wearing red lipstick as I know she loves a red lip too!

I repurchased my favourite ever foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, in my correct shade yesterday. I really do love this foundation, I also have it in the lighter & darker shade for some reason. I bronzed my face a little with The Body Shop Honey Bronzer*. I thought this bronzer would be darker than it is, but it's build-able to quite an intense tan if you work with it. For the eyes I kept it simple with another Body Shop product, this time the Define & Lengthen Mascara in Brown*. I went for something different with the brown mascara, mostly because I didn't want full on lashes for once. I only needed a few coats of this and the tiniest bit of the bottom lashes to get the look I was going for. MAC Fling Eyebrows is through my brows. I let my mum dye my eyebrows a week or so ago, thinking they would go darker, but instead they went lighter so I'm having to deal with that until the dye disappears.
For the lips, I lined them with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Naked 2* and then used ModelCo Party Proof Matte Lipstick in Red Velvet*. I would have used a red lip pencil but I only have a dark one and I wanted the colour to stay bright. This is one of the first matte lipsticks I've tried where it stays moisturising throughout the whole day.
