A Post Christmas Haul

So Christmas soon disappeared, but then sales appeared so I was a happy girl again. I had a little browse online and conjured up the best of to show you earlier, where I mentioned I purchased a few things from Zara. I am here to show you my purchases, along with a few other naughty ones which happened when I got back to London.

I went to Space NK (when do I not go there?) and finally picked up NARS Velvet Matte Pencil in Cruella. It was the last one in stock too, so that was a sign that it was fate for me. I wore it on NYE and I only had to re-apply it once, after I had scoffed down a 5 course meal. It is the most amazing red shade and I have been wearing it recently to perk up my ill looking face. Along with the lip pencil, Oribe Dry Texturising Spray was purchased. I couldn't justify the larger bottle so along with the £10 incentive I had to use, this was picked up and I love it. I can really understand the hype around it. Does it beat BB Dry Spun Spray? Not too sure…
Do I need two bags from Zara? Yes, I do. I couldn't help myself and I love them. I arrived back to London to a glorious large navy box containing them and I couldn't be happier. The first one reminds of a Celine/Whistles style pouch which I lust over, except it's larger and can hold numerous things for an evening. The other is larger than I expected but for days where I need to carry a little more than usual, it's perfect.
Next up is the comfiest chunky knit jumper from Cos. An oversized camel knit, with zips up both sides, was in the sale at Cos with 50% off. I couldn't help myself and I have worn it so many times since. It is so warm, almost too warm for the mild weather days we are having. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this jumper come the snowier months.

Now today I'm going shopping again as Suzie, my main enabler, is coming up to stay with me. Uh oh!

The Haul: Treating Myself

You know when you go shopping and when you buy things, it just makes you happy? That happened to me yesterday. I had some birthday money so I went to Newcastle to spend it all. I initially set out to buy Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight but it wasn't in stock, so I took it as a sign to buy multiple items from Boots.

I've been loving the 'barely there' mani so I picked up Mademoiselle by Essie. It was either between that or Ballet Slippers but I wanted something very sheer. I think it's a perfect colour for job interviews! I had ran out of Bioderma (sop) so I picked up this L'Oreal Eye Make-up Remover as there wasn't any micellar water in stock. I used it for the first time last night and the first impressions aren't good. After finding out that the Bourjois Universal Illuminating Powder wasn't limited edition, I decided I needed to pick it up. After swatching it, I love it, except I don't actually own a powder brush. Since I missed out on the Kevyn Aucoin highlighter, Soap & Glory Glow All Out was popped into my basket. A bit too pink toned for my liking and I'm not too keen on the cardboard packaging, but I will report back later.

My favourite thing to buy after beauty are shoes. I can never have enough shoes, whether it's trainers or boots. My beloved Zara loafers broke in the summer so I went for a 'practical' loafer as they've got a thick sole which would be good for winter. I was thinking practical, you see. I'm going to wear them to my job interview at Hugo Boss tomorrow (eek) while they're clean and brand new. They were from Office, which is where I buy most of my shoes from so I managed to use my old student card there.

I have an American Apparel jumper coming to me in the post, which I am so excited about. Thanks AA for the 30% birthday code!

The Haul: A Trip To MAC

A trip to MAC is always a good thing. Whether or not I needed them, it's always nice to treat yourself isn't it? It started off with the Brush Cleanser as I've been extremely lazy when it comes to cleaning my brushes. This spot cleaner is great for my eyeshadow brushes so that I can have a clean one every time I do a smokey eye. No more mixing colours from whatever I used last time. As well as my buffing brush for foundation, now it gets a quick clean a few times a week to get rid of the grime.
I have no excuse for Eye Brows in Fling, I still have some left in the one I'm using at the moment but I can always do with a back up! The thing is with those pencils is that you never know when they're going to run out.
I've always wanted to buy Face and Body Foundation so after trying a few samples to find my perfect shade, I picked up it in the shade C2. A very lightweight water-based build-able foundation in a shade which will match my skin tone for the winter. It's quite popular for people to break out after using this product but I've never had that problem with this or any other product.
I can't go to MAC without picking up a few lipsticks. I initially wanted to pick up Coral Bliss but that was out of stock, so I went with Ravishing. I saw one of my friends wear it a few weeks back and it looked lovely. A perfect coral which is more on the orange side with a teeny bit of pink. It's a creme sheen finish which is by far my favourite, they're so creamy and last quite a long time on my lips. Next up is Russian Red. I only own one true red lipstick which is a MAC Pro Long Wear product but I always wanted one which was a lot deeper. Ruby Woo was too drying for my liking so Russian Red seemed fitting for what I wanted. I need to pick up a lip liner to go with it, so if you have any suggestions. I can just imagine wearing this in autumn with a big chunky jumper.

The Haul: American Beauty Haul

I wish it was me who had just popped over to America for a few days, but unfortunately, it wasn't. My sister went for a short trip to New York, lucky girl, while I went home to see our parents. As soon as she told me she had booked up to go, I went back and watched all of the American YouTuber's videos about their favourite drugstore products and asked Estee from Essie Button on Twitter about what she would suggest for me to get!

My sister kindly brought me back a few things from my extensive list I gave her! Allure magazine was one of the favourite things as I refuse to pay the ridiculous price it goes for in Selfridges. A thick magazine all about beauty, what more could I want? Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful, a perfect pinky peach for the summer, which will look gorgeous once I'm a little sunkissed. Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells has been a palette what I've wanted for months now, it seems to be the perfect every day palette. L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Iced Latte, is a pressed loose powder eyeshadow. I know they're available in England but this colour is only available in America, making me want it even more! I remember I saw Ingrid from Missglamorazzi use it in a tutorial ages ago and since then, I thought it was perfect. I briefly used it today and found that it also doubles up as beautiful highlighter. The Covergirl Lash Blash Volume mascara was something I'd been wanting, well I wanted the Max Factor version but I refuse to pay the amount they are in England, so it was cheaper getting the Covergirl version! The Twilight Woods fragrance mist from Bath & Body Works was something which wasn't on my list, but I know how much stuff my sister bought from there so she couldn't leave me out too! It's such a beautiful scent, something which I could use as a perfume too as it's got such a long lasting power.

Of course I will be doing a review of each of the products, most likely in a 'Whats On My Face' post! What is your favourite drugstore product?
