Sunday Snapshot #5

Hello, hi, how are you? I feel like I haven't just sat down and spoke to you all, if this is speaking to you... Who knows but I feel like I have my blogging mojo back. I go through periods of loving it and then not loving it so much, but I've been insanely inspired recently, hence the new layout too. Although I still wish I could change a few things about it, I'm content with it for now.
I feel like everything has changed recently, when in reality all which has changed is that I'm starting a new job tomorrow, which is exciting. As you may have noticed, I never really share too much about my work on here and it'll most likely stay that way but you may see the odd bit here and then on Instagram/Twitter. And for the things which have been inspiring me -

  • Have you seen the Emilia Clarke editorial on Violet Grey? She's my current obsession since seeing Me Before You (which I absolutely sobbed my heart out at) and since finally starting Game of Thrones.
  • I've recently read every article on Faithful Travels, a new blog by Faithful The Brand. Be sure to check it out if you want your inner traveller awaken.
  • The above also led me to Tuula blog, a travel/fashion blog I have read for a while now but had forgotten to check for a while. Be sure to look at her Sri Lanka diaries as it has certainly made me want to go to India/Sri Lanka even more!
  • If you're a coffee lover and live in NY, you need to look at the Man Repeller Guide to Best Iced Coffee. As soon as I read it, I forwarded it to my long-time close friend, Luke from NevNYC, who is currently living in NY. I have been itching to head out there to see the city but may have to wait till the winter passes.
  • But if you're in London, you need to go to The Parlour in Fortnum & Mason. I went there last week for afternoon tea and my god, the mint & dark chocolate ice cream is something from heaven.
  • You may have seen this but my good friend Suzie from Hello October has launched her jewellery line with Mejuri. Having known about this for a year now, I have been so excited for it to launch as I just knew that it would be beautiful and it didn't disappoint. Suz, I'm insanely proud of you.
  • Even with the random showers we have every day now in London, these sandals from Next have been on my feet and I am absolutely obsessed. Although the leather dye has been coming onto my skin a little every day, they are insanely comfortable and at such a low price.
  • If you're in the need of a good manicure in central London, check out Nails & Brows at Greek Park. I've been there a few times now but this past week I went for a shellac manicure & pedicure and haven't walked away so happy before.
  • Have you heard of The Working Women's Club? It's a site/concept which has been created by Phoebe Lovatt, London girl based in New York and I am obsessed with. As some of you may know already, I'm obsessed with podcasts so I was excited to see she also has a podcast talking to kickass women. Listen to this podcast with Glossier's Annie Kreighbaum talking about creating a brand and the voice behind it, it's very interesting if you consider anything about your blog/social media a brand.
  • The above image was taken yesterday over at the Weleda gardens in the Midlands. I'm a huge fan of the Weleda Skin Food (more on that soon) so I was excited to see behind the scenes of the gardens. But look out for more of that coming this week!

Hands up if you have D+ size boobs and find it impossible to find cute supportive bras? You're not alone and I have been on a mission lately to find them. I am all for a wired non-padded bra, but would prefer to have more option than just plain white or black from M&S basic line. After going through so many bras in the past, I have finally came across a selection of brands which offer both cute, practical and just damn right sexy options.

Rosie for Autograph at M&STrust Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to create beautiful underwear, I mean just look at the woman. Although many of the bras don't go higher than an E cup size, I can always find beautiful underwear here. The majority of my undies are from this selection as they have created so many different styles but which suit fuller boobs.
Bra StopBra Stop is a new website to me, but it's an online site which offer both underwear and swimwear suitable for D+ boobs. They offer a large selection of Heidi Klum underwear, which is certainly worth the price. I have this set and can assure you that this is the best fitting bra I have worn in a very long time. Although I don't usually buy light coloured underwear (I'm not very good at doing a light wash), this is the perfect light pink matching set.
Oh So Lovely Intimates - One thing I want to make sure is known is that people with D+ bras CAN wear those cute little triangle bras. I always choose one with a underwire in it so that there is some support, but I do own a few without the underwire which I still happily wear. Oh So Lovely Intimates is a brand I have been following online for a while now as they have such a beautiful Instagram page but their bras are also just as lovely. I particularly have my eye on the Wildflower Bralette, Katrina Bondage Bralette and Mimi Underwire Bra
Selfridges
This may be an obvious one but they have the best selection of luxury underwear out there. You can everything from practical Wonderbras but also the least practical underwear ever from La Perla!

Sunday Snapshot #4

The warm weather seems to be back in London, although it's more humid than sunny, but I'm still fully enjoying it. After having a beautiful long weekend in the Yorkshire Dales last week where the weather was hot enough to catch a hint of colour, I've been hoping summer would return to London. I did a little spot of shopping yesterday, as I needed to stock up on Zara's organic cotton v-neck t-shirts (seriously the best bargain ones out there).
After not posting a snapshot in a while, I have so many interesting links I want to share with you all -

  1. The above photo was taken in the new Sophia Webster store, which is just as beautiful as you'd imagine it to be. After trying on the Bibi Butterfly flats, I was disappointed to find they were a little too narrow for my feet. So, are there any brands you'd recommend me to check out for flats?
  2. The team over at Glossier emptied their makeup bags for the camera on Into The Gloss. I'm obsessed with seeing what makeup people carry around!
  3. Have you seen Refinery29's YouTube channel before? I hadn't watched it until I came across the 'Try Living with Lucie' series which is uploaded every week. Every week Lucie Fink tries something new such as '5 Days of Exercise' or '5 Days of No Sugar'.
  4. My need to head to Costa Rica was just intensified when Pandora Sykes uploaded some snaps from her amazing honeymoon around the country!
  5. Speaking of Pandora Sykes, have you heard the new podcast with her and Dolly Alderton alongside The Sunday Times Style? The PanDolly Podcast launched two weeks ago and so far, I am thoroughly enjoying it. Particular highlights so far have been Tom Hiddleston dancing and all about the recent Cruise shows.
  6. Another podcast I am obsessed with is by Bella Younger, aka Deliciously Stella on Instagram! The Deliciously Stella Podcast talks about getting the glow and dissecting all of the ridiculous health trends.
  7. Laura Jane Williams, the lady behind the blog Superlatively Rude, had her first book launch this week and I downloaded it onto my kindle straight away. I'm a true believer in supporting people who I read on the internet and will purchase all books by people I love. The book, Becoming, is so good that I missed my stop on the tube yesterday as I was so stuck in the pages.
  8. Sophie over at Fashion Slave wrote about the Politics of the Morning After Pill and basically typed everything I have ever thought about that small expensive pill.
  9. One of my oldest friends, Luke, has started blogging about living in NYC whilst being a student and although I may be biased, he certainly gives an insight you don't always see.
  10. Have you heard that Drybar is set to do $100million in sales this year six years after opening its first salon? It's the main blow-dry bar which created the hype and many have to thank about it, it's now so easy to not wash your own.
  11. British Vogue went into Miranda Kerr's wardrobe and it was even better than you think.
  12. Can I quickly just mention Gucci Resort 2017 because I am 100% obsessed with it?

Sunday Snapshot #3

Call me a homebody, or even a hermit, but I spend a lot of time in my room (the downside of not having a living room in our rented flat). Because of this, it means I am constantly looking for different ways of improving my room. I have a great set up as it allows me to have friends over as I have an area to sit on a sofa next to the window, but I also have a desk where I can work from. But there was something missing and that something was simply a shelf. A trip to IKEA later and I walked away with a new bedside table and a shelf ready to go up on my wall. I'm content with my room now, so with that, here are a few things from this week:

  1. Emily Weiss and Jen Atkins livestreamed a 'Live Top Shelf' late this week on Glossier's Facebook page. I'm dying to try out Ouai haircare, so I'm excited to hear that it's coming to the UK early next month!
  2. 73 Questions with Taylor Swift on Vogue's YouTube channel. That is all.
  3. British Vogue also introduced a new series 'In The Bag with', the first guest being the beautiful Taylor Hill
  4. Charlotte Tilbury is releasing a new brow gel and I'm intrigued to know if it's good enough to replace my loved Benefit Gimme Brow. This video has got me thinking that it may do just that!
  5. I've spent too many hours reading this new blog find, Two Weeks in Costa Rica. All stemmed from the fact that my best friend and I have decided that we're going to Costa Rica soon!
  6. Reminding myself how hilarious this Broad City scene was!
  7. Also - GIRLS FINALE! Brilliant, but also feel like more could have happened in it. The next season is the final, so let's see what more Hannah can do.
  8. Prince George meeting Barak Obama in his personalised dressing gown & PJS is possibly the cutest thing I have seen in forever.

Sunday Snapshot #2

Sunday, the last day we have to fully relax until next weekend. London is starting to warm up (I actually went outside without a coat this week) and although the April showers are here, I'm fully embracing the Spring feeling by looking at a few things to pick up for the coming months. I have my eye on a new bag, I just need to track it down as it's sold out everywhere and I have my eye on a new pair of Bailey Nelson sunglasses from their Summer Sun Collection! To continue with your relaxation, here are some of my favourite links from the week.

  1. Garance DorĂ© met with my ultimate girl crush, Zosia Mamet and I finally got round to their podcast together.
  2. Man Repeller are talking about the best ways to start saving money. It's something I've been thinking about a lot recently so this article came up at the perfect time.
  3. Waiting For Saturday met with Eva Alt, Glossier's Social Media Editor and talked about the best ways to unplug
  4. Bailey Nelson's Summer Sun Collection launched this week as I mentioned above and I am obsessed. I have my eye on the Archemedis with reflective lenses, as I definitely have a thing for mirrored glasses at the moment.
  5. Have I spoken about my obsession with Taylor Swift on here before? Maybe not an obsession, I just really love her. So I was super happy when this Vogue article was released.
  6. How cute is this behind the scenes video with Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik?
  7. I am fully obsessed with Johnny Coca's first collection for Mulberry. The patented AND burgundy bags - oh my, I love them.
  8. I've been watching Happy Valley this week, have you watched it? I highly suggest it if you're looking for a high suspense short TV show!
  9. Rome is calling my name this summer, either there, Tuscany or South of France. Either way, Conde Nast Traveller didn't help with this article
  10. Finally, an article which is all about hairstyles you don't need to wash your hair for, all thanks to Into The Gloss and Anja Rubik
