There's only so much reading you can do before you need to pick up a physical book and get lost in it. I've read quite a lot since I was young, I was always a fan of the typical Jacquline Wilson books (and I'll admit that I still got them until I was mid-teen) but then I moved onto something a little more complicated. But since getting caught up with reading everything online recently, it's refreshing to pick up a book.
There's two which I have read recently and they're completely different. Starting with Toast by Nigel Slater, an extraordinary story of Nigel Slater's childhood remembered through food. Each chapter is based on different food, whether that is toast or Arctic Roll (a personal favourite chapter of mine). It's a hilarious book, I laughed out loud many a times on the bus and would be reading it standing up on the tube. I've watched Nigel Slater on the TV so many times, so reading this was a different side of him. It's not your usual book, but if you're willing to try it, it won't disappoint.
Next is a book which has really showed me a different way to look at things, #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso, founder and CEO of Nasty Gal. 'A Girl Boss is in charge of her own life. She gets what she wants because she works for it'. It's something I'm pushing all girls to read, it will empower you, it will make you want to work hard and it'll show you how Sophia created Nasty Gal. It will be £10 well spent on Amazon, or pop it on your Christmas list.
What other books should I read?
