Fragrance is such a personal thing, one thing I may like, someone else may hate in a fragrance. I personally usually go for fairly musky scents, however I do own a mix and wear various different ones, it all depends on my mood. I have been a big fan of Tom Ford perfumes for a while now, wearing Black Orchid and Violet Blonde fairly regular so I knew one of these would be a winner. The other is something by Burberry which I feel very sophisticated when wearing.
Tom Ford Velvet Orchid* is a feminine take on the ever so famous Black Orchid, which is a unisex fragrance. With the same design of bottle but with a deep purple shade, it's an uber elegant bottle which would look divine on a dressing table. The notes are cool citrus, floral petal notes, honey and rum. It's a very sexy and seductive scent which is a perfect fragrance for an evening, however I will admit to wearing it on a daily basis.
Burberry My Burberry* is the newest launch from Burberry, with Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss being the face of the campaign. The packaging is inspired by the iconic trench coat and the British heritage behind the brand. The idea behind the fragrance was to capture the scent of a London garden in the Autumn months. The notes contain sweet pea, bergamot fused with geranium, golden quince, freesia heart and finished off with patchouli and centifolia roses. I knew I would love this fragrance as I love anything which has patchouli and bergamot within the notes.
As I was wearing more light floral scents throughout the summer such as Ellie Saab and Jimmy Choo, this is a lovely switch.
