So after not having my hair cut all summer, I chopped all of my hair off this week. It was long overdue, the last time I got it cut, I went shorter again and had it dyed on the same day. This is the shortest I've ever had my hair cut, ever since I was a toddler and my mum was determined to make me have a bowl cut which she would blow dry into place for my school photos.
I headed to Hershesons on Conduit St to see Sean, he's cut and styled my hair before and briefly knew what I wanted. Initially I wanted to cut it up to my collarbones but it was a last minute decision to go this short. To ensure there was no 'triangle effect' happening, my hair was thinned out a lot to take the thickness away. I wanted movement and texture but without the layers so he cut into it, rather than cutting it in a straight line. It's slightly longer at the front, as you can see from the photo, which is something I prefer.
I haven't washed it myself yet, however I'm thinking of just blowing drying it with a round brush so that it's fairly straight before using the tongs to put waves in. A haircut which needs little styling, upkeep and just a small amount of product is what I wanted and now have.
