Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I'm Lucy. I document my life, travels, food, favourites here...

The Berry Lip Edit

Come the A/W months, it's socially acceptable to wear a dark berry lip every single day. For me it's the best low key look as I only need to apply the smallest amount of mascara and eyeliner to go alongside it. But it's impossible to find the perfect berry lip so it's best to have multiple choices for the coming months.

The Sheer Lip Colour - There's always one which is more a stain or a sheer lip colour and this time around it's Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Emotion. A perfect cross between pink and purple, you could either pat this down to a very light stain or layer it up for intense shiny colour. It melts onto your lips, keeping them hydrated all day and if this shade doesn't tickle your fancy, there are so many others to pick.

The Matte Lip Colour - I have spoke about how much I love these lipsticks before, but Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in Matte Plum is still a winner for me. I never thought Clinique could create such a beautifully matte lipstick, but they did and there's a shade for anyone. Again, this can be patted down to a stain but it gives full impact when applied for a bold lip. Think of this as the more purple sister of MAC Rebel, as they're similar in that respect.

The Everyday Berry Lip Colour - I wear this one nearly every day, you can see from looking at the bullet as I've never used up a shade so quickly. MAC Syrup which is a Lustre finish is a perfect light purple toned berry lip colour. For me, it tends to enhance my natural lip colour as that's already pretty dark. It's a shade which could suit all skin types, whether you're pairing it with a smokey eye or very simple make up.

The Intense Sheer Lip Colour - I know what you're thinking, do you really need two sheer lip colours? But when it's the By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge in Sangria Appeal, yes you do. It may be marketed as a sheer colour, but this packs a punch of colour. Leaving a super shiny finish, it contains UV protection and it fills and plumps up the lips. For this shade, it's best to apply for a lip liner and lip brush as it can get a little messy, things can slide all over the place if it goes wrong. But it's a favourite of mine and will be worn multiple times throughout the coming months.

The New Release Lip Colour - I wrote about the new NARS Audacious Lipsticks the other day but let's return to the shade Audrey, a deep berry shade. I may be scared to ruin the NARS embossing on the lipstick, but I have been wearing it so much now. Another matte lipstick which keeps the lips soft, it leaves a satin finish and only needs one layer of colour to be intense.

The Old Favourite Lip Colour - MAC Plumful for one of my first MAC lipsticks which I bought and is still one of my favourites. Coming from the Lustre family, it's the deeper sister of Syrup as they are very similar. Perfect accompanied with a brown smokey eye for an evening look, this could be worn all year round.
