An Ode To Serums

One of my favourite skincare products are serums, I own far too many and the collection will just keep on growing. When I look at what serums I want to use, I mainly look at ones which are directed towards dehydrated skin and those which can battle redness. In the past month or so I have been reaching for some of them over and over again, it wasn't until now that I realised how much I love them.

Clinique had a huge new release over the past month and it was the Smart Serum*, It's one serum, for all ages and skin types, but it's a custom serum which suits your skins needs. It's addressing uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles, firming and radiance. Now those things are something I'm not too bothered about, however the radiance and uneven skin tone is something I can suffer from. According to the science, after 10 days of continuous use, you're meant to notice a difference. So I went ahead and used it straight for 10 days, forgetting all other serums in this post and wow, my skin did change. I hadn't seen a friend in a few weeks and instantly she told me my skin was glowing. I no longer had any rough skin around my jawline and the redness had started to calm down, on top of that it addressed my dehydrated skin. The texture is a thin gel and it smoothes onto the skin with no bother, it's my favourite texture. It's a winner with me and I can imagine that my mum would love it too, you should try it yourself.
On top another winner in my eyes and that is Perricone MD Chia Serum*, a serum oil hybrid product which I have been using most evenings underneath my moisturiser. If you're skin tends to become a little dry and dull, this will visibly make your skin radiant and glowing. To me it feels more like an oil, which I prefer as it provides the hydration I need for my summer dehydrated skin. But the added bonus of brightening my skin up is perfect. I've been using this on an evening only, as it can be a little bit too much to apply make-up over the top. I'm a huge fan of Perricone MD products, as you can tell by the next product I'm going to talk about...
Yet another Perricone MD product and this time it's from the hypoallergenic range, which I have already raved about their moisturiser and it's the Hypoallergenic Peptide Complex*. Now I do realise that this is aimed at ageing skin and I'm not using it for that reason at all. But lately I've been noticing some discolouration around my forehead and chin areas, which doesn't disappear no matter how much I exfoliate. I can't comment fully on this product so more will follow, but so far the texture is thin enough to use on the morning and it sinks in straight away.
Many people have raved about the Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum* and I have in the past, so I'm back again as I've remembered why I really like this product. It's summer so my skin is more dehydrated than dry and this is perfect for that. I won't go on too much about it as I have raved about it before, but the high dosage of hyaluronic acid is something my skin has been needing and it's been providing it. It's a little too thin for my liking, but with a moisturiser over the top, it's completely fine and maybe people with combination skin would prefer that.

What is your favourite serum at the moment?
