When I posted last week about the granola I made, a few people asked for the recipe so here it is. It's simply a few steps, it takes you around 10-15 minutes to make and you can change it to your own taste buds. I had made this before in the past but I took a little inspiration from the Top With Cinnamon cookbook to make it in a frying pan.
All you need is -
- Rolled oats (I used gluten free)
- Roasted seeds
- Chopped Almonds
- Honey or maple syrup
- Frying pan
- Coconut oil
Start by adding the oats to a hot dry frying pan, mixing them around every 30 seconds so all of them are cooked. This step should take around 5 minutes, maybe less, depending on how hot the pan is. Add your seeds and nuts at this point and mix it all together, I used pumpkin and sunflower seeds which had been previously roasted.
Once it's all mixed together, form a circle in the middle and add one heaped tablespoon of coconut oil and however much honey or maple syrup you wish. I added quite a lot so that it would stick together and add more taste. Mix it all together, making sure you coat all of the oats with the mixture.
Continue to cook it for another 3-5 minutes until it's cooked to how you like it. Leave it to cool before popping it into an airtight jar to keep it. It should keep up to two weeks too, so you can either make it in small quantities or one large batch if you're going to eat it everyday.
