21 Things On My 21st Birthday

Today it's my 21st birthday. I'm currently in the countryside up North at home with my mum and sister spending my day in peace. I'm going to be spending the day playing with my puppy, eating food and nothing else and that's how I want it. A lot has happened in the last year, I feel I have grown up a lot and realised things about my life.

  1. Moving myself back to London was a huge accomplishment and I'm proud of myself.
  2. I have fallen in love with the city so much more in the last year.
  3. I appreciate Durham, where I'm from, so much when I'm not there, living in London makes me miss the countryside too.
  4. I have never been so happy to grow closer and closer to my best friend, Suzie.
  5. Letting go of old friendships is for the good but it make me realise who my close friends are.
  6. Living in London with two such close friends is something I never expected to happen so quickly.
  7. I actually feel like an adult now, I even have to think about council tax.
  8. Going to IKEA becomes even more exciting to go to when you have your own flat to decorate.
  9. It's okay not to be okay.
  10. It's also okay to enjoy being alone.
  11. Stopping worrying about things which don't matter is for the best.
  12. Waiting around for something to happen won't go anywhere, going out and getting it myself will.
  13. I've accepted that I may not be in my dream job yet but I still have a long way to go and plenty to learn.
  14. Don't feel pressurised to drink, the hangovers still linger but since leaving home, I learnt to enjoy a glass of wine at dinner.
  15. It's acceptable to spend your weekends watching seasons of the O.C on netflix.
  16. Meeting people through blogging isn't so scary after all.
  17. Writing will become a passion without forcing it.
  18. One day soon I will own my own little dachshund, it's just not happening right now.
  19. This blog has become one of the biggest parts of my life and I cannot be more thankful for everything it has brought.
  20. My birthday also marks the month I started my blog so it's two years old now, it started off as a little lone pea and now it's grown to a pod with lots of other little peas.
  21. Believing in yourself goes a long way in the world.
