Sometimes I get stuck in a rut with my make up and use the same things every single day. That's not strange to many people who don't have excessive amounts of make up, but when I could use so many other palettes etc, I always think that I must be choosing the best products out of them all.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation* has been my go to choice for a while now, replacing the tinted moisturiser for the colder months. I use the shade Santa Fe, although I could get away with a shade lighter but it just means I can skip all of the bronzer. Not sheer in the slightest, a lovely medium coverage foundation which doesn't cling to the dry skin we all have in the winter. Concealer has to be to Clarins Instant Concealer in 01*, a concealer for everyone and everywhere. A thick coverage concealer, one of the best I've ever tried as it covers everything from blemishes to red marks, or just adds extra coverage on the areas you may need it. Finish off the base with a quick dust of Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder down the t-zone to set things in place for the day ahead on a small fluffy brush. For highlighting and contouring, Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate* is the perfect choice for cream product lovers. The contour shade is a very flat, warm bronzer shade so that it doesn't reflect light and creates the contour on a face. Similar to the highlighter, which is a sheen rather than a shimmer as it contains no glitter. I can easily skip the highlighter in this palette as it doesn't show up on the skin, only when the light catches it, but a little contour can change everything.
I've been won over by the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown*, it's worth the hype and I love how natural it can look. Simply filling in the places which needs it, drawing in each little hair can make a huge difference as it looks a lot more natural. For the eyes, Tom Ford Eye Quad in Orchid Haze* is a beautiful palette which can be used for many looks. The TF eyeshadows blend seamlessly and are worth every penny, I never need to use a primer with these and will last all day. Mascara changes all of the time and I'm not fully loyal to anything, except Benefit They're Real for evenings. At the moment I am using up Clinique High Impact Mascara and I like it a lot, but I'm starting to think whether you need to spend a lot of money on mascaras nowadays as brands in Boots has brilliant options.
For the lips, a no hassle lip is everything I need right now. A light pink shade which matches the eyes, no matter how heavy or light the eyeshadow may be. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Naked 2 is a mauve pink shade which is a great base for Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in Loveable, a lipstick I love so much I own two of.
