I've finally got a skincare routine I'm happy with, it's only taken me about 6 months to properly find it. My skin is now very dehydrated, however it can break out every now and then with an oily(ish) t-zone. All the products I use cater to hydrating the skin, locking the moisture in but also cleansing it fully. It doesn't really differ from morning and night, I just swap the cleansers and maybe add in an oil or use a different moisturiser.
AM - Every morning I cleanse with the Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser*, a hydrating gentle cleanser which doesn't irritate my skin in the morning which can happen quite often. Ensuring I pay attention to the eyes, I've been using Benefit's Puff Off* eye cream which has a nifty little applicator that calms any puffy eyes. To moisturise, I use the new Origins Original Skin Serum* which helps get the glow back in my skin before using the Kiehl's Skin Rescuer, a stress minimising daily moisturiser.
PM - In the evening I usually have more time for my skincare routine, as in the morning it's always rushed before work. If I've worn particularly heavier than usual make up that day, I remove the bulk of it with Bioderma before going in with the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I've gone through three tubs of this cleanser and I cannot fault it. It removes all make up, doesn't leave any residue on my skin and leaves my skin feeling super hydrating but still cleansed. Twice a week, I will follow up with an exfoliator which is always the Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliating Paste. Again, I've went through a few tubes of this product and it's one of the best exfoliators I've used as it contains both a chemical and abrasive exfoliator. If I have any blemishes, I will dab a little of the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Gel* onto it which will helps clear and dry out the blemish. On an evening, I always like to layer up the moisturisers so again I will use the Origins Original Skin Serum, followed by a thin layer of the Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream and then the Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Treatment.
There are a few things which I will note, one being that I haven't featured any toners in this routine. Why? Honestly, it's not something I use everyday and whenever I go through periods of using it everyday, I don't see a huge difference. For other people I can see the benefits and it's all down to personal preference, so I choose just to skip this step most days and I wanted to ensure that this routine was portrayed as true as possible. Also, on an evening, I rarely use eye cream. As I'm still young, eye cream is something I can leave out, but that may be due to not having found the right one. I've just started to use a new eye cream which is hydrating but light enough and has a brilliant little pump dispenser (packaging is huge for me).
