Sometimes I get into a little bit of a rut with my make up, mostly as I sit in the same place to do my make up in the morning and rarely switch up the products in front of me. However, I've been loving the products, whether they are new products or not. On a daily basis, I like to keep my make up very simple but all my products lean towards the dewy look.
I've been using the YSL Touche Eclat Foundation* every day recently, it's a light to medium coverage foundation which leaves the skin with a satin finish. To conceal any dark circles or redness, I have been reaching for the Clinique Airbrush Concealer* which gives the skin that slight more 'perfect' look. I've been focusing on highlighting my face a lot recently, which will explain why this post includes three different highlighters. These two highlighters are certainly underrated and I love the finish they both leave. Girls Meets Pearl* is described as liquid pearl for the face however I couldn't imagine using this all over the face. I simply dab a little of the liquid onto the top of my cheekbones right after applying the foundation. It leaves a soft finish look to the skin when it catches in the sunlight. When I want to amp up the highlighter, I will use Watts Up* by applying it straight onto the skin and blending with fingertips. Using them together? I will admit that I've done that a few times on a night out but it's not something I would suggest unless you really love highlighter! For a natural sheen on the skin, RMS Living Luminizer is perfect for that. After lusting after it for so long, I finally purchased it last summer and love the finish of it so much. There's no pearl look or shimmer, just a natural sheen on the cheeks when the light catches it. This is all down to the main use of coconut oil in the products, just like all the other products. For bronzing, I have recently finished and started a new one straight away as I really love it, which is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. A matte bronzer which can be used to tan the face as well as contour, it's one of the best bronzers I've ever used and I've used it for years now. Benefit has recently introduced a service online where you're able to customise the bronzer with a name too, which is totally adorable!
There is a lot of Benefit loving throughout the post as I always head there to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted, which I would 100% recommend but that keeps them reasonably tamed for most of the month. Other than that, I am still using the combination of Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brunette and MAC Brow Set in Clear. Sometimes I will pick the Hourglass or Tom Ford Brow Definers however I really love the thin nib of the Brow Wiz, just to draw in the missing hairs in patches. For a eyeshadow, although I am still obsessed with Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Pale Barley, I have been reaching for the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. It's not as loved as the original palette, however the lighter and softer shades are much better for a daytime look. When it was first released, I wasn't a fan of the Benefit's Rollerlash mascara but then I realised how better it was for daytime than They're Real. For an evening look, I will always use They're Real as it achieves such long fluttery lashes on me but then also use Rollerlash on my bottom eyelashes as I don't like the 'spider effect' of them. In a reoccurring attempt to make my eyes appear larger, I've been using a mixture of a skin toned eyeliner such as the Benefit Eye Bright or MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NW20 and the NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Rue De Rivoli, which is a deep green shade. I will first tight-line my lashes with the darker shade of liner before smudging it ever so lightly along the bottom lashes, only so that there's a slight shadow to add a little depth. Before adding the skin toned liner on my waterline, which adds the wide eye effect without being overpowering.
Although it all seems like a lot for an everyday look, altogether this can take me around 8-10 minutes to do in the morning, depending how long I spend on my eyeshadow. What is your favourite everyday make up product?
