It was only this year when I really got a hold of my hair and what length suited me. Since going short, I haven't went back and the only thing was missing were a few more blonde highlights. I naturally have quite dark blonde hair, however during the summer I like to add a little balayage to soften it all.
To cut my hair, I always see Sean at Hershesons and I would highly recommend him. Whether you visit Sean or just Hershesons, you won't be let down as I know many people who get their hair cut there and really do love it. They have both a salon just off Regent St on Conduit St and in Harvey Nichols. This time around I didn't go as short as I usually would have as I prefer it longer for the summer. Around an inch was cut off, maybe a little more at the back as well as a lot of the thickness taken out to stop it going puffy.
For the colour, I headed to Radio Salon on Redchurch St in Shoreditch around a month or so ago. I hadn't had my hair coloured in a year so it was time that more balayage was added. I wanted the colour to look super natural, that it will blend seamlessly into my hair colour and will add a softness and texture to my hair. Claire, the senior colour technician, decided that by using two shades of colour will add the look I want. A champagne shade was added to the front part of my hair, framing my face while a more caramel shade was added at the back to make it a little darker blonde. By backcombing the hair and finely applying the colour using foils, there is no streaks of colour and it blends perfectly into my natural hair colour. I would 100% recommend Radio Salon, whether it's a cut, colour or simply a blow dry. It's a very cool hair salon, using all Bumble & Bumble products which had already won me over. For the spring time, it was a perfect step into the blonde hair again so I think maybe in a month or two, I may head back to go a little lighter for the summer.
I have one question to ask you all - has anyone ever had a keratin smoothing treatment/brazilian blow-dry? As my hair is naturally very curly, I'm thinking of getting one this summer just to see if it would allow me to have my hair natural with no straightening.
