Bare Minerals does skincare, but does it work? I'm skeptical and intrigued to find out.
Skincare is my jam at the moment, I'm just obsessed with it but I'm also being a lot pickier about what I put onto my skin in the hope that I can get my skin back to how good it used to be. I haven't changed much about my skincare recently so I felt as though I was ready to play around with new products, which is where the new Bare Minerals skincare line comes into play.
This line has been in the making for 10 years now, which seems like such a long time when a lot of brands bring out new products every year. But in the whole line, there are four cleansers, four moisturisers and one infusion/essence style product. As for the cleansers, they aren't made for different skin types, but more about what people like. If you're looking for a new cleanser, most women go off the texture and what type of cleanser it is, whether or not it's suited to their skin type. And although some products are more suited to a certain skin type, it doesn't necessarily mean that skin type will use it and that's ok!
Pure Plush Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam - a rich creamy formula which refreshes the skin while removing makeup and dirt without stripping the skin and leaving it dehydrated.
Clay Chameleon Transforming Purifying Cleanser - A clay to cream consistency which is enriched with Brazilian red clay and papaya extract to draw out impurities and help detoxify the skin.
Blemish Remedy Anti-Imperfection Treatment Gelée Cleanser - Better for those with problematic skin types, it's an oil-free cleanser which dissolves pore-clogging impurities while being containing ginger extract and mineral-rich sea salts.
Oil Obsessed Total Cleansing Oil - An ultra-lightweight oil cleanser which glides onto the skin to dissolve makeup before transforming into a weightless milky emulsion.
Skinglongevity Vital Power Infusion - Use instead of your serum or before your serum as an essence to infuse the skin with moisture, reawaken the look of youth in the skin and to enhance the skin's resilience.
True Oasis Oil-Free Replenishing Gel Cream - A water-based oil-free gel to achieve a fresh, noticeably softer and smooth feel to the skin.
Smart Combination Smoothing Lightweight Emulsion - A lightweight emulsion moisturiser to leave the skin looking radiantly healthy.
Bare Haven Essential Moisturising Soft Cream - Perfect for those with very dry skin, it's a buttercream enriched with shea butter which will help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
As for someone who has dry/dehydrated/slightly combination skin, I went for the Oil Obsessed Cleansing Oil and Clay Chameleon Transforming Purifying Cleanser alongside a few moisturisers too. After not using an oil cleanser for a while, I was ready to fall back in love with them and I am seriously obsessed with this cleanser. Sometimes an oil cleanser can be slightly thick, but this oil is super thin & melts makeup instantly. With a lovely slight scent of lavender, it's the perfect cleanser to use on an evening in an attempt to unwind. After the oil cleanser, I then apply the Clay Chameleon cleanser which I will leave on for a few minutes to deep cleanse my skin further. Unlike other clay cleanser I have used, this doesn't harden when left to dry, nor does it dry your skin out as it's a thick cream consistency which is tinted red till water is added. It's a combination I have been loving using on an evening which removes all traces of makeup and leaves my skin feeling super clean.
From the selection of the moisturisers, I've been using the Smart Combination Smoothing Lightweight Emulsion in the morning and Bare Haven Essential Moisturising Soft Cream for the evening as it's a little thicker. Although I haven't been using just all of these products, I still mix & match my skincare routine depending on how my skin feels that day, both of those moisturisers have suited my skin perfectly. If I'm wanting a little extra moisturise, I have mixed a little of the Lightweight Emulsion with the Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream which does the job perfectly.
Would I recommend the skincare line?
Overall, yes I would. If you're in need of a new cleanser, then I would definitely look at their range as from the ones I have tried, they are fantastic. From what I have heard from other people, the oil & clay cleanser are the two most popular and I can see why. As for the moisturisers, the emulsion & soft cream is a brilliant product to choose if you're only just starting to get into skincare. As a whole, the skin care line is a great starter point for young people too.
