A few months ago, Rocio messaged me telling me that she was going to be in London in June for Goodroots Festival. I was naturally very excited that Rocio was coming to London as we hadn't seen each other in a long time, but I completely forgot to grab a ticket so Rocio saved the day with a spare ticket. If you don't follow Rocio, you should follow her blog Let It Be Cosy and also sign up to her newsletter! After meeting over social media a while ago, Rocio is such an inspiring person working as a food-photographer in her home country, Mallorca.
Goodroots Festival is a place for everyone who loves health, food & wellness to come together with brilliant speakers such as Deliciously Ella, Niomi Smart, Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley. Situated in a warehouse in East London (I would highly recommend that they expand the space next year as it was rather small for the amount of people there), there was a space outdoors for all the foodstalls including Mae Deli, Co-Yo, Livia's Kitchen and many more. Indoors there were even more food stalls such as 26 Grains (which the above food was from - Indonesians crispy chicken, brown rice, chilli, ginger and coriander - delicious!) and Qnola. On top of all of that there was a hub where there was a range of speakers throughout the day and a room to purchase many amazing cookbooks including ones from the featured speakers.
Although this year was the first for Goodroots, I can see how much of a success it was and I'm positive that it will be on again next June. The event was ticketed for general admission & you also had to purchase tickets for the main speakers, which did sell out super quickly. The fact that it did sell out so quickly showed how many like-minded people there in London and how open people were to learning new things from everyone there. It certainly was an inspiring event which I will be attending again next year!
