The Make-Up: Another Palette?

Every month or so, there will be a new palette what will appear on the radar and I automatically think that I need it, when in reality I don't, but I still buy it because I can justify it to myself that the colours are slightly different to the last palette I bought. Well this is exactly what happened when I saw the Smashbox Softbox palette. Its retail price is £32, which in comparison to the Urban Decay Naked palettes which cost £36, it is quite expensive. There is 6 shades altogether, 2 matte shades, 2 satin shades and 2 shimmery shades. Yet again, if you compare it to the Urban Decay Naked palette where you receive 12 shades for only a few more pounds. However, one of the brilliant benefits of my job means that I'm able to buy products for a fraction of the retailed price so when I picked it up, I didn't think twice, in fact I bought two and gave one to my sister for her birthday.

One of the main reasons why I picked up this palette was the shades and the size. Say you're going away for a weekend and you're only taking hand luggage but you want a few shadows to create a smokey eye for a night look, well holla, this is perfect for this! As I am planning to travel in the future, hopefully next summer if all goes well, this is perfect as I'm able to create quite a few looks with these shades.
The colour pay off is great, just what I expected from Smashbox as I have only ever heard good things about their products. It reminds me of the MAC quad eye shadow palettes what you're able to buy, but just slightly bigger. I have always wanted one of the MAC palettes, not that I actually need them, but they look pretty darn good, don't you think?
Would I have bought it if I had to pay full price for it? Probably not as I'm a poor student right now and I have a few other palettes similar to this. Am I glad I did buy it? Yes, I am as it's perfect for popping into my handbag in case I want to change my make up from day to night.

What is your favourite eyeshadow palette?

P.S, I created a new header for my blog and I'm unsure as to whether it looks to plain or not! What do you think? I'd love to hear your opinions on it.
