The Nails: Seche Vite Top Coat

There's a lot of hype around Seche Vite*, some saying it's the holy grail top coat but then others disagree. My thoughts? I like it, I like it a lot but I'm still on the fence about it. Up until now, I've just stuck with a Sally Hansen top coat which has done exactly what it says on the bottle. Then I was given the chance to try this out so of course I jumped on it.

The first thing I noticed about Seche Vite was the smell, so strong that I felt like I was getting high just sat in my room. There has been things popping up in different forums online stating that there is a harmful chemical in it which is known to cause birth defects. However the company has replied to these by saying that there is in fact Toluene, which if repeatedly 'sniffed', it can cause death, brain damage or depression. After a while you get used to the smell anyway, I'm not going to be lingering over the bottle for long periods of time, so I think I'm fine.
Is this going to put me off using it? I don't think so because it's the best top coat I've used. Your nail polish will be touch dry in approx 40 seconds, no lie. No more sitting around for minutes at a time, not touching anything as you're afraid it's going to smudge. Now I can paint my nails just before I go jump on the tube and not have to worry about it. I have found that it slightly alters the colour of the nail polish, it makes it go a little lighter, as well as it peels off very easily, leaving behind a matte shade of the nail polish. Slightly strange but that has only ever happened a few times.

Do I think it's worth £9? Definitely! Will you be giving it a go, even with such a bad stigma attached?
