The Hair Post: Bringing Back The Ombre

So I decided to re-dye my ombre yesterday. I haven't dyed my hair for well over a year now. I've had all colours and then after dyeing it all lighter blonde, I decided to let it grow out. It's so painful growing out hair dye, when I had bad roots, I was so tempted to dye over it again. My hair is naturally quite a dark blonde, except it's grown back a little darker than I remember.

I was going to go to the hairdressers to get it done this time, but she's a little useless so I bought the BLEACH London Dip Dye kit. I knew they were launching their products into Boots and this was only £7 so I gave it a go. With help of my mum, we ombred my hair in the bathroom. There was the usual bleach mixture, as well as a 'blending lotion' to make sure there wasn't a line of colour. I left the bleach on for about 15 minutes before washing it off and using the hair mask which is provided.
Overall, I think the kit is a good. I haven't used any others on the market, as in the past I literally just shoved bleach on the ends of my hair myself. A lot of the bleach went on 'virgin' hair as such, whereas other parts it already was quite light blonde. I can't decide if I'm happy with it though. The 'blending lotion' didn't really work as it's not very gradual so I will have to sort it out somehow.
It's a lot lighter in real life, the lightening & my camera has changed the colour slightly, so it's not as ginger. I'm going to find a toner to pop on top of it to tone it all out, which I think will then change it. It's making me want to put a purple or pink wash over the top though.

Either way, I'm stuck with it but I feel more like me as I'm used to being blonde. Do you like it?
