Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I'm Lucy. I document my life, travels, food, favourites here...

The Beauty Box: Birchbox November 2013... With A Little Surprise

I've started to love beauty boxes, especially Birchbox. They're very good quality and I'm always fairly happy with the contents, as you can't always love everything in it. This months Birchbox* is all about 'Icons', from the women in the public eye to the CEOs and the hard-working mums, they're everywhere! Plus, if you carry on reading till the end, I've got an exclusive code to grab some freebies if you sign up.

The product I am the most excited about was Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Body Butter. I applied this after my bath about 6 hours ago and I still smell of vanilla. Now I'm not too sure if it's just me, but this never happens and I'm hooked, I'm definitely picking some of these up in the Boxing Day sales! Weleda Replenishing Oat Shampoo for dry and damaged is perfect for my hair, especially the ends of my hair from bleaching it. I've used a few Weleda products in the past and always very impressed, this will be good to keep for travelling. Chella Highlighter Pen was a little suprising, it brightens and adds glow to the areas you wish to accentuate i.e the brow bone. I usually use a little concealer around the eyebrow to make them stand out, but this felt very similar to a highlighting eyeliner for the waterline. Spa Find Intensive Bust Firming Extract Serum is just an interesting product and not very suited for me. These boxes are for all ages, but as I'm only 20 and my bust is still firm (TMI maybe?), this is not something I will be using. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really liked the smell of English Laundry Signature For Her. A fragrance with elegant notes of jasmine petals and musk. My taste is changing to enjoy quite musky scents, so that will be why, plus it has stayed put on my skin for a few hours which rarely happens. The lifestyle extra this month is a selection of Pukka Herbs teas. There is Three Cinnamon, Elderberry & Echinacea and Earl Grey. I'm a tea love and slowly starting to enjoy fruit tea so I'm looking forward to tasting those. The last goodie included is a Birchbox Pencil Sharpener, which caters to small and large pencils. A simple goodie, but something I needed as I can never find something to sharpen my thicker pencils.

Now for the little surprise, I have an exclusive code for you lovely readers to receive these three products for free when you sign up before the 1st of December! There is a Reverence De Bastian nail polish, the shade I have is a lovely creamy navy with a slight shimmer running through it. My mum actually described this as the 'perfect navy', as she does love a little shimmer. Next there is Aromatherapy Associates Body Gel, which smells ah-maz-ing! I haven't tried too many of their products but I love the brand so much, I've been dying to get my hands on their bath oils. Last but not least, Model Co Party Proof Matte Lipstick which I have actually reviewed in the past here. They really are party proof as they don't smudge until you scrub it off.
If you have been convinced by all the goodies, use the code 'BBXLuce' at the checkout to receive the free trio. Let me know if you decide to sign up, as I'd love to know. But remember you only have until 1st of December until the code runs out, so treat yourself to an early Christmas present!
